"The Ambassador of Water" – media campaign to raise awareness of water and health

From 21/01 to 25/01/2019, the Institute of Population, Health and development (PHAD) in collaboration with the Institute for Sustainable Development Management (MSD) officially released the Community Communication campaign “Journey of Water ambassador”. This activity is within the framework of the “local Vietnamese activities for environmental health” project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The campaign starts with 05 communication sessions in Trang An and Binh Nghia, Binh Luc District, Ha Nam Province with the participation of nearly 3,600 students: Hanoi Elementary School, Trang An High School, Binh Nghia Kindergarten, TH Binh Nghia School and Binh Nghia SECONDARY School.

With the message “Fresh water, all year round”, the “Journey to Ambassador Country” campaign aims to raise the awareness of students about the importance of clean water for humans, clean water is a finite resource that needs to be protected through the use of savings, while limiting litter , waste to the environment.

By using the new media outreach, attracted by the form of drama, students – the water ambassadors have conveted many messages to the pupils, attracting attention and excitement.

The program ends with the flashmob dance activity through the song “Wash your Hands” by musician Nguyen Van Chung’s own work for the project. The song with a playful, joyful lyrics reminds you of the steps to wash your hands properly. (See details of the song “Wash Your Hands” here:

In the future, “the Ambassador of the country” will continue to be held and widely accessible to the community in other localities to meet the world clean Water Day 22/03 and Earth Hour 31/03.
